GitHub bans SOME DEVELOPERS. The company  GitHub has restricted some users in countries facing U.S. sanctions from using its services. This development arose as some users lamented that their accounts were no longer accessible and flagged.

Did you know that GitHub is a hub where developers promote or launch new products including software like wallet apps for download and beta trial? This move may be to combat some perceived wrong motives by some developers.

GitHub Bans some Users?? some of the facts.....

One Report this month indicates that the Microsoft-owned GitHub may be targeting and restricting users in countries that are facing trade sanctions by the United States.

The second point is that some of the counties facing the Ban include Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria. Some of the users are at risk of having their accounts banned though the website provides developers with an appeal form to dispute the restrictions,

I think that the long procedure and wait time to get results from an appeal might discourage people from even trying.

Lastly, a user reported that his account was flagged as restricted And that unflagging it means he has to prove that he does not live in Crimea.

According to GitHub's website

Users are responsible for ensuring that the content they develop and share on GitHub.com complies with the U.S. export control laws,

this  includes  EAR (Export Administration Regulations) and the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR),"

Reactions From The Ban??

The first reaction from Some developers is hopeful that GitHub will open a discussion with U.S. regulators to ease the restrictions placed on sanctioned-country users.

Reactions from  Git Hub's spokesperson about the ban on users

First, the spokesperson highlighted the website’s focus on promoting global collaborations

Secondly, He said that  GitHub maintains its vision to be a place for global collaboration, no matter where developers reside and that they take seriously the responsibility to examine government mandates thoroughly.

Finally, he promised that they will make sure that certain users and customers are not impacted beyond what is required by law.

To conclude, this issue may have raised questions as to whether we should start considering a Git hub alternative where developers can lunch their products.

MINING BITCOIN VS TRADING CRYPTO OR STAKING?

Mining Bitcoin and Alt-coins may seem profitable but it depends on how much capital you have to invest in hardware and pay the electricity bills. How much you are willing to invest in third party sites (which in some cases eventually turn out to be scam).
