I got sad when Binance earning opportunities were stopped for UK based users, and moved my crypto from there. I still followed the news and was weird to think that Binance will move forwards without CZ!
Creativity is one of my top traits and when the Binance Christmas Tree competition was announced... I had to join! The prize pool was $1500 in BNB for the best ten entries, an I had to be one of them. Took my glitter pens out and started designing the best tree decoration the cryptoverse has seen!
I was competeing against the whole world... and I like this kind of odds! Here's the end product and the decoration that ended up in the tree! Shared on Twitter and let the gods of random do their job!
The tweet went a bit viral and got a positive impact... but I didn't predicted what was yet to come! Hype and winter vibes as only the Cryptoverse can generate!
My Christmas Tree decoration went viral, and the whole world seen my tree. Binance didn't shared my decoration... Binance didn't quoted my tweet either... Binance posted my entry and tagged me in the post! PVM got world-wide audience in minutes.
That tweet from Binance got 220,000 views by the end of December and one thousand likes, while I got a handfull of followers as well. I used the Christmas tree for Across event but now this was a whole different level!
When Binance tweets your decoration is a good sign that you've done a good job. This made me hope that I will be one of the ten people that will be rewarded with $BNB ... and my hope was not in vain.
The annoncement came at the start of January and I was one of the winners. We were told to check the DMs and it was there where I received a link with a form. This was not as web3 as expected.
The form was opening a Binance login page, which made me worried. Call me paranoid but can't trust anything after I got drained at the start of January and become crypto-poor. I went old school and logged to Binance on desktop then used the link to load the form without logging again. It was fine but you will never be sorry for being extra carefull.
The only things that were needed on the form was the Binance ID and the event code, which could have been easly collected with a Twitter DM. Form done and a message informed me that the prize will be awarded in 30 to 45 days. Just in time for next Christmas... just joking... maybe!
It took a bit over 30 days but at least was paid when the crypto value was going down. I received half BNB in my wallet and that's not bad for a Christmas decoration.
