I knew nothing about Spectral Labs before an unexpected airdrop I received on my Coinbase Wallet. My DYOR started and even if I sold the $SPEC I received, their vision is remarkable! They value the vibrant open-source AI community and its contributions and believe that the decentralized problem solving culture is key to advancing the industry and harnessing the potential of AI.
The Airdrop Season One criteria was chosen to show the commitment to supporting the culture, rewarding early adopters, data scientists, machine learning engineers, generative art collectors and creators, and AI researchers who have actively participated in building and enriching the broader Spectral ecosystem.
This drop was made to recognize and reward the dedication and innovation, aiming to foster a stronger network of talent and ideas that will lead the way forward. This made me laugh as I have no idea why I was eligible!
Apparently a total of 8% of the Spectral Token ($SPEC) supply has been allocated to Season One, with 52,992 addresses identified as eligible for this inaugural distribution. Why me? Still no idea but probably my degen multi-chain farming ticked some boxes!
The criteria for eligibility included five specific categories: Early Adopters, Data Scientists, Generative Art Collectors, AI and Web3 Supporters and Core Developers.
I don't thing I was one of those individuals who were among the first to embrace and engage with the Spectral ecosystem. I am not a Data Scientist or an Open-Source AI Developers, having zero input into the evolution of the field through their work on decentralized problem-solving initiatives and open-source projects.
Maybe I was eligible as an Generative Art Collector? Creators and collectors who have explored the intersection of AI and creativity through generative art and members of the community who contribute to decentralized social network and cultures were added on the list.
Maybe my wallet was identified as eligible as an AI and Web3 Supporters? Enthusiasts and researchers dedicated to promoting the growth and synergy between AI and Web3 made the cut! To be honest... I don't care! It was nice to see this eligibility message when I opened Coinbase Wallet.
As a part of our inaugural airdrop, Spectral Labs wanted to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of several key communities that have been instrumental in shaping the Web3 x AI landscape.
I received 64.38 $SPEC and claimed them with my little ETH I had on Base! The value per token was above $5.60 but was going down rapidly. I had to make a choice! Will Spectral Labs be a top player in the AI sector? Will their vision go above and beyond?
Spectral Labs prioritized the integrity of our community and the fairness of our airdrop process. To ensure our airdrop rewards reach genuine users and contributors several key filters were implemented. They identified patterns indicative of sybil attackers, who create numerous duplicate addresses to exploit our system.
Also addresses known for exploiting systems have been filtered out to maintain the airdrop's integrity. Wait a minute... people knew about this airdrop? I had zero knowledge about it until I claimed it!
Let's go back to this question: Will Spectral Labs be a top player in the AI sector? Will their vision go above and beyond? Time will tell! Until then I made my decision and sold the $SPEC before it dipped even further!
