I was scrolling on X like a true Chad when I've seen a post from Acre... that made me thing about the 6.7 $BTC I had over ten years ago! The FOMO battle scars are real, and they will be a ever-lasting memory of the biggest mistake I've done!
Acre is a Bitcoin-in, Bitcoin-out staking experience with a liquid-staked BTC token to give your Bitcoin the greatest flexibility possible. Bitcoin staking done right. Feels like new opportunities opening for crypto savvy people!
Going back to the FOMO story contest and the invitation to share that life-changing crypto opportunity! Let me share again my most memorable FOMO experience about ... the one that got away" in crypto.
I will turn collective FOMO into excuses to connect, one missed opportunity at a time! I started my crypto journey back in 2015 with Bitcoin, the digital currency that powers on the Bitcoin network. I had some $BTC and I sold it all for peanuts, never getting the chance to buy back!
I bought fractions of Bitcoin throughout the year of 2015 and sold for profit! I was selling and trying to buy the dip... but the dip never came! I sold $BTC since early days but the perpetual growth made me live with "what if?" every time a new All-Time High is reached!
At today's value, my small Bitcoin holding would be valued at a life changing amount ... and sometimes my brain goes in overdrive thinking what I could do with that amount of money... but most of the times I am able to accept that selling them opened new doors and opportunities (not really!)
Let's dive into it! My first batch of Bitcoin was bought 0.579 for only $135... and even the faucets were juicy back in the days! Sold and bought few times during summer of 2015, on Coinbase and another exchange that probably died since then, and my highest holdings were 6.7 BTC!
That stash would now be worth around $690,00 and much more when Bitcoin reached its all-time high of $109,225. In January 2025 would have been valued at approximately $733,000 and PVM would have been a happy man! The scars are real... the FOMO survived!
Back in 2015, I sold 6.7 BTC to buy a new gadget and fund a weekend getaway. Fast forward to 2025, and that amount could have been my ticket to a luxury car or a down payment on a house. Remember, every decision shapes our journey. Here's to the lessons learned and the adventures ahead!
Don't laugh anon because after $BTC I'd FOMO into $ETH! This is the burden I carry since then! That was a giga-chad move! Vitalik still looked like a soft-spoken code wizard, and not like a time-traveling alien sent to teach us about decentralized finance.
My 40 ETH felt like a solid bet, not a life-altering fortune! I was wrong once again! Sold them all for $7,1000 and was happy... until it skyrocketed! I didn’t just FOMO… I've YOLO’d from one regret into another like a true veteran degen!
I bought 40 ETH for just $356.25, about $8.91 per coin as an absolute bargain, and later sold the whole bag! That gave me a profit of $6,743. and a jaw-dropping return of roughly 1,893%.
It was a great flip by most standards… but let’s be real... if I was diamond-handed that stack until now? With ETH hovering around $3,000 I’d be sitting on over $120K. It gets worst... I bought $ADA with a slice of the profits! My only chance to make it right is to dive into Acre!
I had 6.7 BTC and then bought 40 ETH for pocket change, and flipped it for $7,100 feeling like a genius! That's what I though but then watched it moon to six figures like it forgot who raised it.
Now I try to walk around with a smile on my face but my scars as deep as the Mariana Trench! The voices in my head are whispering "just a little profit" like it was a victory cry... not a coping mechanism.
It's cool though! We all got that one trade that made us money and emotional damage. My one just happens to be sponsored by Satoshi, Vitalik and the ghost of what could’ve been!
