Great news from Vitalik Buterin who said that Ethereum will scale to 100 k TPS. The increase of transactions per second will mean a boost of confidence in Ethereum, before the shift from Proof-of-Work to an upgraded Proof-of-Stake. Although an exact release date is still not set, it was hinted that the Ethereum 2.0 will be powered by roll-ups.
Vitalik pointed out that the roll-up technology can play a major role in the scaling of Ethereum 1.0. which would allow more complex applications using smart contracts to make up the bulk of the base chain transactions and significantly reduce gas fees.
The Ethereum price was stable during 2020, therefore the upgrade to 2.0 and the scaling of transactions per second will certainly increase the value.
