Metal music is a unique style of music that stands apart from any other.

Metal music has complex ryhthyms and solo parts and it is often fast, relentelss, and very loud. A key difference that sets the metal genre apart from the others is that metal uses "distortion" which on the scientific level increases the gain of a sound wave and affects the general frequency and tonality of the notes that are being played in a song. Metal also incorporates the sounds of different cultures around the world by including folk music from different regions around the world. Sometimes metal bands have full orchestras to play their high complex compositions.
