Vincent House Pasco Clubhouse is a recovery through work program. In the clubhouse there are currently 4 Units: Culinary/Café, Viscom, Garden, and Career Services. I came to this clubhouse because I'd already healed and recovered from my mental illness. I went to college and graduated AS Degree in Drafting & Design, which now only serves as a hobby, as I continue to practice AutoCAD. The clubhouse has a structured scheduled for the work-order day. I usually open the luxurious Café , and take member or staff orders for lunch, or I may buy myself a blueberry muffin. We learn how to operate and stock goods for the Café. We also have a POS system. It feels like working at Starbucks. The members want their coffee. The Café shift ends at 9am. After the café we have a morning meeting in the dinning area, and their are four promethium screens total in Vincent House Pasco Clubhouse. Other members not at the clubhouse can join us live as the members participate in the meeting via Zoom. This meeting is for the entire VHP group. We discuss events: upcoming socials, jobs and career information. Members participate by reading VHP's daily newsletter. We also review Clubhouse Standards (1 per day). Members are aloud to eat breakfast during the meeting.
At 9:15am we join individual unit meetings, Culinary, Viscom, Garden, and Career Services. In culinary we will use the promethium to sign up for tasks and projects, involving cleaning the clubhouse, preparing healthy lunches, and serving lunch at 11:45 for the 1st lunch, and 12:15 for the second lunch. The 2nd lunch is for the Visual Communications unit. Sometimes the staff will take members to Sam's Club to order food and supplies. Another part of the work-ordered day is Visual Communications. This is my favorite place to work. We have video editing on the iMac. We have a camera and greenscreen. Every Friday, we finish our news video including: Introduction; member minute, menu, wellness tips. About a month ago I made a wellness tip showing members how to use the treadmill on video. Yes, we have an exercise room! We have the treadmill, bike, and Elliptical, and there is also a closed in shower. We film the culinary members, who read off what's for lunch the following week. The Visual Communications also has tasks such putting the newsletter together (writing articles, international clubhouse research, standard response, and many garden pictures). We are responsible for cleaning three bathrooms near Viscom. We Windex windows, sweep, mop, to keep the building clean. We had our hired Gardner say, "this place is the cleanest building I've ever seen." Even as members at VHP, we want to keep other members coming, so there is the reception desk, where parents or potential members can call and schedule a tour of the Vincent House. We participate in making thank-you, birthday, and get well cards.
Our garden is awesome! I helped members cut a Bonsai tree. It made me feel excited about gardening. We are growing peppers, cucumbers, cantaloupe, tomatoes, and more to come.
We also participate in the Bank of VHP. We learn how to use QuickBooks, and work together to county our earnings from the café, culinary, and donations. The money is counted four times. by 4 different members. It's fun!
Covid-19 didn't slow us down. During Covid-19 the members and staff linked up on Zoom, and we sent articles in online, and newsletter would still continue. The new club house opened the doors to us in September 2020.
This is an amazing "recovery through work" Clubhouse. Clubhouse international offers the core standards, and locations of all clubhouses in the world.
