Bitcoin withdrawals on Binance have resumed following a temporary suspension due to significant congestion within the Bitcoin network. This marks the second pause in withdrawals as Binance navigates the challenges posed by the unprecedented network congestion.
After reading the news, my initial thought was that "Lightning fixes this" until I read the following tweet:
That's correct: "Our team has also been working on enabling BTC Lightning Network withdrawals, which will help in such situations." - finally!

For quite some time, many Bitcoiners have seen the integration of a layer 2 solution like the Lightning Network as an obvious solution to the challenges faced by platforms like Binance. However, Binance had refrained from adopting such a solution until now. It appears that the recent issues over the weekend have highlighted the urgency of the situation, leading Binance to recognize the need for a solution along these lines.
If you have concerns about the current fees, there is no need to worry. History has shown that fees tend to decrease over time, as was the case in both 2017 and 2021. Just like in those instances, it is likely that fees will eventually come down again in the future.
