News has emerged that PayPal is considering launching a service that would allow users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies.
It all started with a leaked report that said several people familiar with the case confirmed that Paipal was working to build a direct portal to buy and sell cryptocurrencies within its own application and its subsidiary Venmo ... and that the portal could be expected to be available online in as little as three months.

PayPal can currently be used as an alternative means for withdrawing funds from a number of different cryptocurrency exchanges, including Coinbase.
PayPal may have noticed that some of its payment companies make similar user requests for cryptocurrencies and thus cash in on their crypto efforts.
Square, a payment company founded by Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, has started allowing its users to buy Bitcoin directly in 2018 through the Square Cash application.

Roel Wolfert, chief executive of Shareitt, told Finance Magnates that “PayPal has been working with crypto since 2014 when they started accepting Bitcoin.
Roel Wolfert also pointed out that in addition to profits, cryptocurrencies and blockchain are increasingly appearing in payments as technological advances: "We have seen more and more companies using blockchain as part of their payment processes," he said, adding that technology is "efficient and low the price. "Roel Wolfert also said that the existing measures of AMP and KIC PayPal could be enough to buy cryptocurrencies, but there may be some regulatory challenges:" practically, I can assume that it is with your PayPal account, and maybe even some additional checks on you as a person, you can buy major currencies such as BTC, ETH, and so on, ”he said.
However, "I'm not sure if it will allow people to transfer cryptocurrencies from other accounts under FATF regulations."

In addition, "There will be challenges across regions, and of course, PayPal - as a regulated institution - will have to comply with KIC and FATF regulations, as well as be reviewed by their accountant."

"However," I don't think that with the experience that PayPal has built, [these factors] are holding them back, "he added. In fact, compliance with PayPal when it comes to cryptocurrencies "will open up safe ways for consumers to get more security when buying, selling and spending cryptocurrencies."
