Airdrop hunters: Stop what you're doing right now and look at the #GAIMIN hashtag on Twitter. It's on fire for a reason.
It's a good and natural reaction to be wary of airdrops. There are so many issues with the practice — straight up scams, drops that aren't worth the time — that you end up missing the one or two that might be worth something. Like me with $PORTAL.
But my eyes are open now, and I want to make sure anybody reading me has the inside track as well. Here's why I'm in on #GAIMIN.
The Gaimin Company
Crypto is all about who you're connected to (sadly), and Gaimin is connected to Binance (that's good) as its premier L2 focused on gaming. Why Binance needs an L2 I don't get yet, but maybe the codeheads realize something about future scalability that I'm not seeing. Regardless, questionable utility never stopped a good narrative in a bull run.
Gaimin claims to be the fastest L2 blockchain in existence with a speed of 150k TPS. It also calls itself "currently the world's largest DePIN for GPUs." At least they use the buzzwords in a sensible sentence!
Traction
I hate the fact that following the crowd in crypto is a good thing most of the time. When you get 40,000 sign ups in the first hour, that means the source is coming from vetted insiders. The crypto Illuminati. It doesn't matter how good your project is — you're not getting 40,000 anything inan hour unless you know somebody. These kinds of launches means the word came from the right groups and trickled down Cantillon Effect style until it hits you.
VCs
Add to this I know from VC groups that Gaimin is raising money from a very select group of VCs. You need to know someone to get into these groups and get your allocation at a good rate, and the more selective a company is, the better. I can tell you firsthand that Gaimin was quite selective about who they let invest, which means the proles will be bidding the price up come TGE.
If you can't get in on the raise, the airdrop is the best way to get your allocation of $GMRX before it pumps to Valhalla.
Narrative
Gaimin connects the appropriate buzzwords in the appropriate way to create a cross-functional narrative between GPUs and gamers.
As Gaimin CEO @MartinSpeight says, the company will take the over $500 billion of unused processing power in the $1 trillion set of unused gaming computers and use it to power Gaimin. That's a narrative that makes sense to me. If it makes sense to me on the first runover, it'll make sense to a lot of other non-technical investors in the space as well. Send it.
All in One Gaming Publisher
In order to create and publish games with generative UGC capabilities, dozens of simultaneous on-screen NPCs running off LLMs, and all the other AI crap that's going to power our infusion into the real life version of Matrix 1, umm, I mean the metaverse, gaming studios are going to need powerful partners. This is especially true as AI reduces the game studio into an almost personalized unit. The single individuals who create TikToks today will be creating entire games tomorrow — by themselves — with no-code platforms and ChatGPT spinoffs.
However, these content creators will not be able to deploy their games into the ether without the help of the new essential game publishing partner — the DePIN aggregator. The stuff that people will gravitate to tomorrow will be too big for Steam downloads and Epic Games launches. AI gaming requires an exponentially larger set of hardware than the modern tranche of games.
Enter Gaimin, backed by Binance, with the potential to completely disrupt the current group of publishers. And this is the kind of potential you're looking for when you farm those $GMRX tokens. You are buying into an ecosystem that can convert the millions of Binance users into zomb-- er, gamers and power sources for the AI revolution.
And they also have an esports team coming, which is a great marketing front for any gaming project with buzzwords that low IQ normies (like my cousin, the jackass in the picture) won't understand.
Bullish.
