The crypto mainstream hasn't heard about Partisia, but it's difficult to say Partisia is under the radar.
The scale is simply too big.
What are they doing and why is it important?
Privacy as a Right
The argument of compliance vs. privacy is to me a useless one, but as all binary arguments do, it generates a huge amount of money for people on either side. The entire purpose of blockchain was to deliver parsable data in a private way, but somehow that mission got lost between Satoshi and the gaggle of imposters who imposed themselves upon open source blockchain.
Partisia is a blockchain that delivers privacy as a built in feature to the blockchain rather than a point to be debated. IMHO, it is the first project since Bitcoin to truly consider the individual's privacy over the state's preference as a value. This is a choice desperately needed in web3. Not saying every project has to be Monero, just like every project doesn't need to be ass kissing fag shit like Ripple. Give folks a choice without choking out the other choices, and everything is fine.
Multiparty Computation (MPC)
MPC is at the center of built in privacy on Partisia. Within this structure, the protocol does not have to decrypt data before using it for computation. This feature implies many use cases in healthcare, finance and even marketing.
If data needs to be decrypted, then someone along the data chain has the ability to steal it at some point. So all of your so-called secure, private blockchain applications can be hacked by someone with sufficient skill. Partisia raises the bar substantially — even I as a non-technical person can see this.
The real advantage of MPC is that we don't have to trade decentralization or scale to get privacy. As long as there are enough nodes to provide computing power, the protocol can add them as needed. And Partisia has already done the legwork to set up a critical mass of nodes, so we're good there.
Elephant in the Room
Partisia has been raising for two years.
If you look at the conversation on Twitter or in Discord (why do we say "on" Twitter and "in" Discord? 😄), you'll see some displeasure about the extended raise period. Partisia has given its word that it will have a TGE at the end of the month alongside an airdrop program for the poors. We'll see if they keep their word on that.
I can tell you from trusted sources they are starting a KOL campaign now that usually coincides with a launch. You don't spend this much time with KOLs unless you are close to launch.
The Project
Although the raise has been delayed, the building has continued. Anyone can now download the Partisia MPC wallet and play around with core aspects of the ecosystem.
You can also easily bridge major assets into the blockchain. The partnerships are impressive as well, the type of partners you don't get unless you have something substantial to add to their ecosystems.
Partisia is also wisely launching a social front for its company side by side with its backend. The $PARTI token raise is also going on behind the scenes. $PARTI is set to power a social network complete with celebrity events to help crypto natives become familiar with the Partisia ecosystem.
Overall, if the team keeps its word on the launch by the end of Q1, things look good for Partisia. There is enough goodwill in the bull market and connections with influential partners/KOLs that the game is now Partisia's to lose.
