dCrops Adventures - Winter Season is Here

Gearing up for massive harvests in two weeks from now.

If you have been following my blog posts then you already know that I have a thing for dCrops, which is one of the best play-to-earn games hosted on the HIVE blockchain as far as I'm concerned. The game literally takes up just a little bit of my time on a daily basis and provides me with ways to earn passive income.

Earning money while I'm sleeping is my drug; it doesn't really matter how much money we are talking about. To me, it's about developing healthy financial habits.

Besides, consistence is key and it all starts to snowball at some point if you have patience.

After buying up a bunch of Alpha packs for $2 each, my farm now looks good and produces goodies I can sell for shares which translate into CROP tokens that I receive at the end of each season. I can sell those CROP tokens for swap.hive on hive-engine.com or stack them in order to boost my holding rewards.

Last season I managed to secure the 11th spot on the leaderboard by accumulating approximately 10k shares, which earned me roughly 9k CROP tokens. Truth is I got lucky and harvested a good bunch of 2-star quality crops though.

Hope I will manage to score such figures in this one as well.

Holding rewards.

I am currently holding in-game assets worth 116.8k CROP power, which brings in approximately 0.295 HIVE per day. The game is still in its early stages of development, so we may see these figures significantly increased once more and more people start to join the game.

That's right, your in-game assets can bring daily HIVE rewards straight into your HIVE wallet, provided that you have at least 20,000 CROP power.

So, winter season it is, and since I've got a bunch of seeds to be planted, I better get down to business and waste no more time. Here's a close-up look:

I've got a lot going on this time around. The bad thing is I have 16 Average Farmlands sitting idle doing nothing. I could be renting those lands to earn more passive income, but this is a feature that hasn't been implemented yet. I've heard it's in the plans for the future though.

I also hope Beta packs won't feature any more Land NFTs. Easy riches for me if that happens and the game attracts serious attention. xD

Winter season breakdown:

Unfortunately I do not own any legendary seeds for this season. I guess I wasn't that lucky with my pack openings. I do hold another 50 unopened packs though and I must admit I get tempted to open some of those, but then they add to my CROP power, and thus boost my holding rewards.

Therefore, I have been able to just hold until now. Another thing is I do not own any legendary Hi-Tec lands. Who knows, maybe there are some of those hiding in my unopened packs.

I guess we will never find out!

Expected share rewards (minimum):

(70x17) + (35x24) + (39x13) + (37x15) = 3,092

That figure looks really small compared to my score during Fall season, but it may increase significantly if I get lucky and bag some 2-star and 3-star quality crops on harvest day. I know for a fact I'm getting at least some of those.

I also have some idle boosters at the moment, but it's all Speed-Gro, which reduces the time needed for a seed to mature by 10% - 50% on a specific plot of land. Since I do not own any winter legendary crops that keep producing until the end of the season, and since not all of my lands are occupied, it would be a complete waste to use this booster this time around.

Therefore, I've decided to keep it in stock until the next season.

Final thoughts.

The play-to-earn frenzy of our time is no joke; people are coming up with more and more amazing ways to generate income through online gaming activities, making it possible for millions of people around the world to put food on the table and provide for their loved ones from the safety of their home, and without the need of an employer.

The HIVE blockchain is probably the only truly decentralized network out there that can support such applications so effortlessly, with near-instant, feeless transactions. It feels amazing to be one of the early adopters of this revolutionary tech. The future looks promising.
