Telegram Open Network (TON) investors received a new letter from Pavel Durov's team. American investors will be returned 72% of the funds and will not be able to get 110% in a year, the Bell reports, citing knowledgeable sources.
Telegram reasoned the decision with the uncertain position of US regulators.
Most Russian TON investors have agreed to the deal and are ready to wait until April 30, 2021 to receive either Gram tokens or 110% of the investment.
One of these investors is Qiwi co-founder Sergey Solonin, who invested $17 million in TON. In a conversation with ForkLog, he stated that technology is more important for him in the project than potential profit.
He also believes that the launch of TON by the community will not be as popular as if Durov did it.
Recall that the largest PoS-validators, including Ton Labs and P2P.org, signed a Declaration of intent to launch the TON network if the Durov team does not do so.
