Civic Technologies announced that the Civic Wallet App is now available on Google Play and on Apple Store. Until now, the application was in beta version but it seems that it is now usable.
What is special about this ?
This Wallet uses your identity as security through a 3D mapping of the user’s face. A password or a seed will then not be needed to perform transactions. The identity verification, once your identity document is associated with your 3D mapping for the first time, will be done thanks to smarts contracts based on the technology of the Ethereum's Blockchain.

How is it linked to the Coronavirus ?
And here is the link with the Coronavirus. According to the press release, Civic Technologies has entered into a partnership with Circle Medical in order to set up a proof-of-health. Each user can then declare whether or not he has been tested for Coronavirus before entering a place where there is a high population density.
According to the CEO of Civic, these are the goals of the project :
By design, Civic Wallet puts you back in the driver’s seat with more control over your digital identity and money with no more seed phrases or passwords to remember. And, we’re looking forward to offering proof-of-health verification as a new, privacy-focused element of your digital identity.
For the moment this proof of health device of the application should be tested in the San Francisco region and only in certain companies. Previous application announcements aimed at declaring whether or not you have / had contracted the Coronavirus did not really respect the privacy of the users. This does not seem to be the case here, so one might imagine that this is a good idea.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day, stay safe !
