So let's start with Tower of God
What is Tower of God ?
Tower of God is a manhwa written by S.I.U. The manhwa itself is already a bit old since the first volumes were released in 2010. However, the manhwa genre enjoys a certain popularity rating at the moment notably thanks to the explosion of "Solo Leveling".
Quick overview of the story (no spoilers)
So Tower of God is the story of a boy, Bam, who grew up in a cave and was raised by a girl named Rachel. However one day Rachel disappears and Bam decides to go looking for her. He will therefore present himself at the Tower of God in order to be able to climb the ladder and reach the top of the tower where he will be able to see one of his wishes granted.
Why should you watch the anime
You have to watch it because all the elements that make a good shonen are there. The development of complex characters, the presence of a particular power like those that can be found in the biggest shonen and above all a very pleasant graphic style. And it is especially for this last point that you should rather watch the anime than read the manhwa. Indeed at the beginning of the manhwa, the drawings are a bit special in their proportions. It changes very quickly and the drawings become very beautiful afterwards, but I didn't find it very pleasant at first. That's why I advise you to watch the anime instead.
From my personal point of view, it is one of the best anime of 2020, maybe even the best at the moment and this is also why you should go ahead and devour it. It is available on Crunchyroll and the episodes of the first season are almost all released.
