Is Moozicore Going to Save the Music Industry?

One of the avenues where i see crypto being very important among decentralization is definitely the music industry, which actually has been growing as a market quite a lot over the decades, but are the artists and bands are actually making more money versus what they used to in the past?

Actually they are not. Lot of the revenue is still going into the companies and basically to the top 1% even though we live in an era were self-publishing is very possible in certain scale, i mean i even released a shitty Drone EP on majority of publishing platforms last year. It's very simple and only requirements that really exist revolve around actual recording quality, so you have to do the music on some popular type of a music software or at least mid-range recording material if you're going to record instruments yourself.

So What Moozicore is going to actually bring to the table to help the Artists and Bands to make more money? That is through their Moozicore App a revolutionary Background music service for businesses around the world. So how does this app exactly work? Well ever walked into a bar or a club where you're hearing some bad music and ever wondered like what if i could be the one setting up the playlist and deciding what song gets played?

That's where Moozicore basically comes in, providing an app that allows you to vote for next song in the playlist and suggest other tracks being played in the venue - whatever its Gyms, Bars, restaurants, festivals and other entertainment venues. I can see this is a big trolling opportunity to play black metal at a kindergarten or shopping mall, oh that would be so awesome.

And the interesting thing is this;

Across all restaurant segments measured, Gen Z and Millennial consumers most strongly prioritize music 52% of these younger generations say that a concept’s music selection is an important factor in their decision to visit a casual-dining restaurant, compared to just 43% of older consumers. appreciated music makes almost 4 out of 10 stay longer in a business in a public place. Further, 31% of all people return, 21% recommend the business to others and 14% also say they buy more. In other words, music is
very important to businesses. - Moozicore whitepaper

There are clearly certain types of behavior and entertainment in terms of music that is expected of venues in the world, if a place plays shit music you might be less unlikely to visit or having a better experience. Some people prefer Italian music at a pizza place and some people prefer 80's retro music at a Hooters bar.

Now that we have laid out that there is a demand and use case for such an app, what are the actual numbers for venues and potential market-spots for moozicore? So let's take a deeper look

  • Since of year 2011 to 2017 restaurants in America have increased from 611,566 units to 647,700 units.
  • Total 99% of Bars are independent, which means they are easier to get into the Moozicore program.
  • The Amount gyms have increased from 30,022 to 38,477 Gyms between the years of 2008 till 2017
  • Both Clubbing and health club venues have increased in customer-ship over 30% between the years of 2008 and 2017

And as i touched earlier the Music industry had streaming revenues of 1.8 billion in the year 2014 and in 2017 they were 5.7 billion, which is immense growth over just 3 years. Streaming was over 65% of total industry revenues putting the whole industry above 10 Billion. The overall music subscription industry has made immense growth also since 2014.

So how does all the money get made? Whats the use case of the token exactly? Well lets start crunch these numbers next then.

  • SAAS - For a monthly subscription fee the venue owners get to access a web panel which allows them to create playlists from millions of songs from Moozicore's fully licensed library with the opportunity to let customers engage with the music right from their smartphones.
  • Microtransactions - Venue's customers pay with coins (tokens) to vote for upcoming songs and add songs to the venue's playlist and request songs to be played next in the playlist.
  • Display Ads - Moozicore will integrate ads into the TV screens in the venues for better engaging the customers and also allowing in-location advertising for brands

I Would argue that there is use case here definitely long as subscription fee for the venue is not too high. However not all venues like gyms don't have TV's, how will the customer know if moozicore is used at X venue? There should probably some type of GPS system in the app which shows the venues that are being supported. That being said while music is getting more standard and blanded i think more people listen same type of music and future generations are lot more likely to enjoy same type of music basically.

Moozicore is certainly an unique idea and its operating on bit a different niche, which conquers a new possible market and while at same time offers extra revenue possibly for venues and artists across the world.
