Introduction

Google has recently released its new AI model, PaLM, which is reported to be three times larger and more powerful than ChatGPT. Developed in April, PaLM is powered by Google’s TPU hardware, marking it as a competitor to NVIDIA’s GPUs.
Sterling Crispin, an artist, and coder with a special interest in NFT art believe PaLM may be more powerful and flexible than ChatGPT because of its ability to process multiple senses simultaneously and its more adaptable structure.

Only time will tell if PaLM will be the ultimate victor in this battle of the AI models. As the AI race continues to heat up, it’s time to ask the question: who will come out on top, Google’s PaLM or ChatGPT?

Introducing PaLM

Google has created an AI model that could be three times larger and more powerful than ChatGPT, called PaLM (Pathways Language Model).
PaLM is much more versatile and efficient than its predecessor, allowing it to learn new roles faster and more effectively by drawing upon and combining its existing skillset. For example, the system can use aerial images to predict the elevation of a landscape and how flood waters will flow through that terrain.
This could allow it to better generalize across tasks and learn new ones faster and more effectively. The debate between PaLM and ChatGPT is ongoing but only time will tell whether one is truly three times more powerful than the other.

In April of this year, Google created a new AI model called PaLM (Pathways Language Model). It is part of Google’s Pathways system and runs on Google’s proprietary TPU (Tensor Processing Units) hardware. This model competes with OpenAI’s ChatGPT,
PaLM is reportedly three times larger and more powerful than ChatGPT, allowing it to process multiple senses such as vision, auditory, and language simultaneously. This allows the model to be more versatile and efficient, allowing it to learn new roles faster and more effectively by drawing upon and combining its existing skillset. For example, PaLM could use its knowledge of aerial images to predict the elevation of a landscape and then use that information to help determine how flood waters will flow through the terrain.
Additionally, the system is expected to develop a massive multimodal model that can simultaneously process language sound and vision, which would give it the ability to perform multiple tasks.
It is unclear at this time which model will ultimately win the AI race, but both models have the potential to be game-changers.

Who Will Win the AI Race?

It’s hard to say who will win the AI race between Google’s new PaLM and ChatGPT. On one hand, PaLM is part of Google’s Pathways system and runs on the company’s proprietary TPU (Tensor Processing Units) hardware. It is able to process language, sound, and vision simultaneously, and is more versatile and efficient than other models currently in use, allowing it to learn new roles faster and more effectively by drawing upon and combining its existing skillset. PaLM is also expected to have a more flexible and adaptable structure than current models, which could make it more resistant to errors and biases.
The system is also expected to be able to perform multiple tasks, such as how aerial images can predict the elevation of a landscape and how flood waters will flow through that terrain.
Ultimately, only time will tell who will win the AI race. Both PaLM and ChatGPT have the potential to become powerful tools for many different applications, and it will be interesting to see which one becomes the most successful.
