Microsoft Executive Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella was speaking at Microsoft’s Future Ready Leadership Summit in Bengaluru when the conversation turned to biryani, a popular South Indian dish. The chatbot ChatGPT, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 algorithm, made the remark that biryani is a tiffin.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella corrected the chatbot over a popular food item — biryani. With the event being held in Bengaluru, Nadella emphasized the importance of technology and how it has become integrated into our lives. “I said let’s really ask it the question. What about South Indian tiffin? How would you rank all of them? It came back with all of these things that I wish I could have for breakfast every day. And for some reason it thinks biryani is a tiffin,” Mr. Nadella said from the stage.
ChatGPT was then asked to write a play where idli dosa and vada argue over who is the best tiffin. it is a wonderful thing to see these generative models capture the imaginations of many, remarked Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. As part of his presentation, Nadella talked about some of the cutting-edge AI and cloud innovations happening in India. He met with Indian government officials including the foreign minister and discussed issues like governance and security in the digital domain.
