80,000 users of the German Bitwala bank can now earn interest on this cryptocurrency on their bank accounts by purchasing Bitcoin thanks to a new partnership with the Celsius Network cryptocurrency lending platform.

According to Defiprime, Bitwala is the first classic fiat bank that offers interest for keeping Bitcoin in your account. While DeFi products have higher rates, up to 8.6% per year, Bitwala is more regulated and offers fiat and cryptocurrency services in 32 European countries under the license of the leading German bank SolarisBank AG.

Users can buy bitcoin with a minimum value of 30 euros and store it on a free Bitcoin interest account, receiving weekly interest payments. The account bitcoin is lent through the "Celsius network" to trusted partners. Funds can be immediately converted back to euros.
