I think that DeFi is more focused on increasing access to financial services, eliminating intermediaries and gates, which traditionally constituted a barrier to economic integration. But, honestly, at the moment DeFi requires a lot of understanding. The technology is immature, prone to problems, hand and attacks on the security system. The user interface for using DeFi has not yet been developed.
The expert added that DeFi will need a decade to improve its functionality, improve its interface, expand access, increase its availability, reduce volatility, increase the basic security of smart contracts and create a reliable infrastructure necessary for widespread takeover. It is assumed that DeFi's high return on investment and its negative interest rate can be a good catalyst for the introduction of cryptotechnology.
Negative interest rates are good for cryptocurrencies, they are good for all space. In fact, this causes additional attacks on depositors from the central bank, trying to fill the huge gap in monetization caused by excessive incentives and excessive debt - added Antonopoulos.
