I created a short document (Link Below) that lists about 60 programs SOME of which will run on Windows, but ALL will run on Linux. They are all open source software which means they are all downloaded, installed, used, modified, and sharing of the modification FOR FREE.

If you're not sure if your favorite Windows program has a Linux rival, check out my list (Link Below). Some of them will let you try them out on Windows so you can see if it is worth trying Linux.

My favorite is the Microsoft Office rival (replacement) called LibreOffice which can save in Windows Format if you still need to save your documents with .docx or .xlsx, etc. It is so functional and it is so free. Why pay hundreds for MS Office when you can download LibreOffice onto Windows or Linux FREE.
