Happy new year to all the community! It's so nice to see our group increasing always more and today I want to face a really weird topic: Football & Crypto. 

I was looking for something interesting to write about and as a great football supporter I decided to research some facts that linked the crypto world with this sport.

Okok wait.. we need to go back, almost 2 years ago: It was the 31st january 2018 when the Turkish Amateur Club Harunustapor decided to enter history becoming the first football club to complete a transaction in bitcoin, buying Omer Faruk Kiroglu, the first footballer paid in Bitcoin (exactly 0.05, not so much because we are not talking about professional football, It was 440$ at that time and 330$ today).

The extreme volatility of Bitcoin it's not profitable for the transfer market because talking about long terms It could be a very big loss.. think about Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar, if last december their value was paid in Bitcoin (€150M per head at least) the transaction was about 45000 Bitcoins (3300$ was the bitcoin's value last december).. today It would be an amount 2 times bigger than their real value (€330M).. so the answer to the question :-will bitcoins replace FIAT in football transactions?- it's a big NO in my opinion.

Let's talk about something related: CLUB TOKENS!

Many football teams are developing their own token, such as the Juventus token (with a €2.20 value) and their goal it's to share It with investors and supporters to let them be part of the decisional team of the club (depending on how much you invested you will be able to partecipate more). If your idea was buying club tokens to sell them it's not what exactly It Is meant for.. but maybe in the future could be. That's a great use of crypto in my opinion and a good way to let people know more about tokens, coins and economy in general.
