Gaslighting 101: How governments hijack pop-culture and lie to We The People

By Tigerius | Life Lessons Learned | 6 Sep 2024

I've been thinking lately about gaslighting, war-mongering propaganda and other 'soft power' psy-ops visited upon us by those in positions of authority, who constantly divide us with the sole motivation of retaining, consolidating and perpetually increasing their own power. They wish to control our thoughts by infiltrating and corrupting the very fibre of our moral being and severing our anchor to reality. This is why they relentlessly attack the basic tenets of our sanity, concepts that are the pillars of our civilisation--religion, nuclear family and freedom of expression. For it is these ancient traditions that have brought us this far and severing these essential links to sanity would be akin to lobotomising our civilisation.

What's remarkable is that they do not seek to achieve dramatic and immediate social change. No, they come at us sideways like sidewinders. They patiently poison the well over generations grooming kids for slavehood from an early age by tweaking history, encouraging kids to doubt/resist their parents' judgement, hijacking words and memes (pride, populist, gay, etc.), twisting axiomatic truths of the world (e.g., that in homo sapiens, biologically, there are and can only BE two genders) and perverting socially accepted norms. Honestly, it's like we're being dragged back to the Dark Ages of witch hunts and inquisition by this insane minority rule... The way we're going, we can expect 1984 to come calling very soon, demanding its Ministry of Truth back! 🤦‍♂️💯🤣

Too often lawmakers insert 'riders' into bills that are passed into law with minimal scrutiny. It boggles the mind, so here are some concrete examples:
“Healthy” Food Labeling Rider would prevent liability for manufacturers that mislabel foods as “healthy” until compliance date goes into effect.
Ancillary Use Mining Rider would give mining claimants the right to permanently occupy federal public lands, construct massive toxic waste dumps, and build roads and pipelines across those lands.

Here's another prime example of what I mean... CCR wrote this iconic song as an ardent protest against the engorged empire and flesh-rending war... The empire's response? "Hold my beer!" Before anyone knew it, the song had been hijacked and turned into a hit anthem to glorify the senseless slaughter in Vietnam! 🤦‍♂️

"Yeah-yeah, some folks inherit star-spangled eyes
Hoo, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask 'em, "How much should we give?"
Hoo, they only answer, "More, more, more, more!"

They tell the plebs that the people should send their kids to die in some far-flung foreign land for some nebulous ideological concept like democracy, but it's all a steaming pile of BS. The soldiers don't fight for freedom or for their country. They fight for #Blackrock, #Vanguard and other shadowy corporate interests that are faithfully served by the corrupt and craven politicians (who spark the wars on command and then hide far, far behind the frontlines, of course). People need to wake up and stop volunteering themselves as cannon-fodder of the ultra-rich. Education... in its TRUE sense, i.e., developing or EDUCING one's true potential is extremely important. But... as I wrote yesterday, that's exactly WHY the educational system is set up the way it is--it's not a bug, but a feature of this dystopian, global paradigm. 🤦‍♂️

Remember, as Voltaire said: "If they can make you believe in absurdities, they can make you commit atrocities."
