I heard something the other day that has just stuck with me. With the steady stream of bad news that we get bombarded with via all the social media outlets I have often dreamed of living in simpler times. Times when Facebook didn't exist. A time before the question "where are you" was even necessary. But what I heard the other day out everything into focus for me.

God knew EXACYLY when my birthday would be. He planned for me to be living RIGHT NOW. He didn't intend for me to live during those times that I long for, he wanted me to live in this day. In this moment. In this place. God doesn't make mistakes, He didn't intend for me to be living in the past and accidentally make my birthday in these days. In the entire history of the human race, both past and future, God wanted me on earth right now.

I am just in awe of the power of God. My mind simply can not comprehend his timing, as it says in 2 Peter 3:8 "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day."

As I continue to look at my watch and wait on God's promises I have to remember that my clock looks nothing like His clock. But I can be certain that I was meant to live in times exactly like these. God made me strong enough to handle all of the battles that He has asked me to fight. Well, he has made me strong enough to lean on Him for help in all the battles He has asked me to fight at least.

So with all the bad news you will hear today, remember this; God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.
