Let's start with some tulips from this spring. And the white daisies with the yellow center make a nice companion. I love spring and tulips are one of the first flowers to raise up from the dormant earth and show us their beautiful blooms. There are about 75 varieties of tulips and they come in a multitude of gorgeous colors. The word "tulip" is thought to have come from a Persian word meaning "turban". I can see how that might be possible, they do rather resemble a turban.

Another early spring flower is the iris. There are almost 300 species of the iris and they come in a rainbow of colors. So it's no surprise that "iris" comes from the Greek word meaning "rainbow". This red brick wall makes an excellent background for these beautiful yellow flowers.
Now for a Sunshine Haiku:
Yellow like the sun
Bringing a smile to your face
Peace lies in their blooms.
