Temperance is a virtue. The word temperance means to be moderate in food, drink, or other pleasure. It comes from the Latin word temperantia, which means moderation. In order to live a life of temperance you must be able to control your emotions and impulses. You must be able to resist the urge to do something that might harm you or another person.

Temperance is important in all areas of our lives. It is especially important for children because they are still learning how to control their emotions and impulses. If children are taught about temperance early on it can help them throughout their life when making decisions about how much food or drink they consume or how much time they spend playing video games instead of studying for school exams!

When people fail at being temperate it can have serious consequences for everyone around them! If someone doesn't have enough self-control when eating too much food then they could become overweight which could lead to high blood pressure or heart disease later in life!

We all need some form of temperance in our lives every day! Whether it's controlling your emotions while dealing with stressful situations at work or resisting the temptation of say everything you want without think about it.
