As most of us take the freedom of speech for granted, it does come with some inconveniences.
We hold very dear the right to speak or write without censorship. I value the freedom of speech even though it does come with it's downside.
Freedom of speech is fiercely debated especially when it comes to words that are so powerful that they become weapons. When the speech or the read is a raw human emotion, it can be uplifting as well as harmful. There are only two ways about it.
I keep in mind one quote that stays with me in any event when I read or hear stuff that I find harmful.

If the emotion upon hearing or reading something that I truly find offensive, harmful and disgraceful in any way, I take a step back.
And if this emotion keeps lingering, then I exercise my right to choose who I listen or read.
It is up to you to make that decision and you are FREE to do so at any time.
To me words matter in such a way that I deeply care about my reputation as it follows me everywhere I go.
It has served me very well to this day.
And my legacy to the ones I love and cherish is to be remembered
as a class act.
