The exponentially rapid and amazing growth of the PublishOx platform and fantastic friendly community, has been a great experience to be part of. However... I urge great caution if you see posts offering financial products from 'new' companies or Cryptocurrency products and services that appear on the PublishOx pages.
With the huge growth of PublishOx and community, a few bad guys are going to slip through - it is unavoidable... Namely fraudulent Cryptocurrency Applications and products... In this case I am going to hit out at 'Shitcoin Promotions' that have suddenly started to appear on the pages.
In no way am I pointing fingers at any of our long running and great authors, or the majority of those that have been at PublishOx for several weeks, and newbies promoting or reviewing crypto and associated networks etc... But absolute due diligence need to be asserted by yourself if you as a reader or member/author, bump into such new Cryptocurrency Tokens and project articles.
Going back to basics is a must... Heavily research any Altcoins that you have never heard of and that are new. It goes without saying that there are some nasty scams out there involving 'shitcoins' that are designed just to steal your Cryptocurrency or Fiat Cash.
Research things such as the token blockchain if there is one, official websites, exchanges if any (a rarity), market cap, if any transactions have been made, how large, how many... You may even drop by to some of the big guns in the PublishOx Security Team and drop a message to support if you suspect fraud.
Other things such as a good solid whitepaper and foundation, and maybe an active community such as a mining pool with a good amount of nodes, if indeed the altcoin is mineable. Good example of mineable coins that some have great benefits, or already achieved great things over the last couple of years, can be found at zpool.ca.
Promises of high yields from your assets are in full swing right now... Remember there are thousands of elaborate Ponzi Scheme scams on the tippy-tappy interwebz - such as... Proof of Stake and Cloud Mining. Alarm Bells should ring if you see Tron as a Cloud Mining Rig being offered to accumulate 700% profit a month - I tell you now 90% of the time you find that once your three month contract has lapsed and time to pay up... The scammers are already building the next ten website scams.
A Companies House registration in the UK, London... Is NOT licence to throw crypto at a project. This is renowned for being a desk in an office, unmanned... Or as often the name of a legit company being used fraudulently - be it a liquidated company or well-known... Do your research. Check offices on street view if you must... Even the simplest things give away a scam.
This was just a short heads up... I do not wish to point at any particular pages on PublishOx, and two such posts promoting shitcoins have already disappeared earlier today. A definite cause for being alert...
