Firstly I will start with asking anyone thinking about joining Pi Token Network and downloading the app for a quick turnover of profit - not to bother, as this is a long term project - Pi has at least 12-months from the typing of this article (January 2021) before the development team is anywhere close to targeting adding Pi Token to the exchanges - I am pretty sure that is already pretty much sorted out at the Pi end.
Pi development teams have already started the next phase of development with the Pi Application, which is scheduled to last a good twelve months to assess and brainstorm - albeit the Pi App Wallet has already hit Testnet stage.
This bring me onto the brainstorming sessions within the app. Pi are allowing users to reach out with ideas via the new core 'Brainstorming App' within the Pi app, which includes chat and moderation.
Is it too late to get involved and join the team, and start earning Pi Tokens via the application?
Short answer is no... The longer answer is it all depends on your motives to get involved in the community - if you are looking to jump in and grab a quick profit, then this is a certain "don't bother' as you will need to wait at least 12-months for any steps towards a dollar value and exchanges as I previously mentioned. However if you want to just quietly sit back and allow your Pi to build up, even with an account joining today you should still have a minimum of 300 to 500 Pi Tokens at current mining rates with just one referral to your account.
You can of course join in the discussion and brainstorming app if you wish to get more involved - this includes adding and testing any project of your own you may wish to submit to the finished Pi App - which will be more of a Dapp environment.
