Tragedies always come in three, don't they?

They say that tragedies always come in three. Which they do.

Yesterday morning, I woke up to some pretty bad news. Really bad news, if I'm honest.

The sort of bad news that make your head tilt down a little, and your face grow dark, and your eyes close a little, and the edges of your mouth frown.

Then, about 15 minutes later, I got some more bad news. Less bad, but still pretty bad.

So, naturally, I spent the whole morning thinking about the two sets of bad news I'd been given.

I spent the whole morning feeling pretty bad about it.

But, more to the point, I spent the whole morning thinking what the third thing was going to be because they say that tragedies come in three, and they say that in a lot of languages, including my own and including English.

So I figure at some point during the day there was going to be a third thing. I was wrong, there were two more things.

But let's start with the silver lining.

As it turned out, the really bad news I had received first thing in the morning turned out to be a misunderstanding, if you want to call it that, so instead of being really bad news, it was just not great news, but it still counted at the first thing.

The third thing was, my favourite team lost against the team I hate the most.

The fourth thing was... ah that's a story for another day.
