Literally not a week goes by without an email that begins with the words 'data breach'.

It's constant. It's an epidemic. The latest email I got is from Contis, which is a third-party card provider that works, along with others, with Binance.

Kroll, those *********** that are handling both FTX and the BlockFi bankruptcies, also had the same problem.

And the problem isn't limited to financial platforms, it happened to all kinds of platforms, including, for example, Yahoo.

In other words, if you've used the internet at all over the last five-seven years, just assume your data has been compromised.

Is this normal? The sad truth is it actually is. It's sort of inevitable. We're now in this world where we tell the internet everything we do, at any given moment of the day, in detail.

Think about it, if somebody had access to your Google search history, your social media and data from your transactions, that entity would be able to determine, with an incredibly scary degree of accuracy, every single thing you do every day.

Want proof? I play football four or five times a week, and once a week, on a specific day, I play at a facility that's far from home and quite difficult to use.

I've now learnt how to get there for the first few weeks, I had trouble finding it, that means I used Google Maps a lot.

And guess what, now, at the correct time on the correct day of the week, Google Maps proactively shows me directions to get there. IT knows.

The problem is, we walked right into this, because it's convenient. It makes our life easier. And there's no going back.

So yeah, unfortunately it's just a matter of time before the next email marked 'data breach' comes our way.
