Technology is a mess and we're all slave to it.
This morning I woke up and found two emails I wasn't particularly happy about.
The first email said "welcome to Such and Such Financial Services (fictitious name), please confirm your email", the second email, about an hour later, read "thanks for confirming your email address, you can now access Such and Such".
The problem is I hadn't signed up for this Such and Such thing.
So of course immediately I changed my email password, checked latest log-in locations, then I signed in to this Such and Such service, changed my password to that one.
And then I got in touch with Such and Such and told them somebody used my email address to sign up without my consent.
It seems nothing else happened, so that's good, but now I can no longer access my YouTube channel from my phone.
The problem is I've been living abroad for over a year and I constantly struggle with the 2FA text message.
I used to use Google Auth for that but now, not sure, many companies prefer to use 2FA text messages sent in live time which, oftentimes, don't come through.
While I did manage to receive a text to change my password, which let's face it is the most important thing, I cannot receive another text now that I'm trying to log in to my YouTube from my phone.
No big deal. I'll try again in a few hours. And then tomorrow. And sooner or later it'll work.
But it's such a Fcuking pain in the ass, technology, isn't it?
