I'm going back to wired (headphones)

I recently mislaid my very new, very expensive AirPods Max.

By which I mean I left them on a seat in an airport lounge and only realised when it was too late.

Apple's Find My pings their position very close to the airport, at a private residence, which probably means somebody who works at the airport took them.

It would've been much worse if it had been my phone, but the difference is that you can't remotely shut down headphones. The only thing you can do is mark them as 'lost', which makes it impossible for the new owner to add to a new iCloud account, and may limit their use.

It also means if they ever appear on the market, with a serial number with a flag next to it and obviously no box, they might be difficult to sell.

But let's face it. There's very little I can do.

It is what it is.

I may buy new over-ear headphones at some point, but in the meantime, I've decided not to. I've owned several iPhones over the years, including ones that still came with wired phones in the box.

So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna 'invest' a few dollars in a Lightning-to-USB-C adapter and use those instead.

I'm gonna try them on public transport and more important on planes. If it works. I may never go back to over-ear headphones.

Although I still feel like a fool for losing those. But it is what it is.
