hashtag first world problems, but this is probably the worst airport I've ever been to

I apologise in advance because this is going to be essentially a long rant in which I list all the things I'm complaining about at the moment.

Let's start with the serious stuff, the 'non-firstworldproblemsy' stuff.

My back hurts and I don't know why. I don't get it. Two days ago, out of the blue, while I was doing the dishes, I felt a piercing, agonizing pain in my back, right below the shoulder blades.

I'm no doctor, but it definitely felt like a cramp.

So I asked Doctor Google, and Dr Google said a back cramp, or spasm, could be the result of many things, bad posture and sleeping on your stomach.

I do sleep on my stomach. And, when I'm working, I do sometimes sit down in a weird posture. I went for a walk, and then a swim, and that fixed it. Except now I've just got to this airport, and the second I got out of the car, I felt a spasm again, two days later.

Which brings me on to the second and third issue, this is the first world problem kind of stuff.

This is the worst airport I remember using. Until now, that particular title probably belonged to Costanta Airport in Costanta, Romania, but that was in 2010. This is 2024. And this airport is worse.

It's Tivat Airport in Montenegro, it's very small, very disorganised, and very expensive.

It's essentially one big room with all the rent-a-car desks and the check in desks and information desk, all in one room. There's only one bathroom. There are only five, I repeat five, chairs for people to sit down.

And because it's such a small airport, they won't let you go through security until one before your flight.

There's a cafe, which is smelly and cramped, and I had coffee, which was 4.9 euros, and then beer, which is 6 euros for the cheapest one they have, which is in a bottle, because they haven't got taps.

There is a lounge, and it looks okay from the pictures, but it's airside, meaning I can't use it till I'm airside, and I'm not gonna use it anyway because what's the point of using a lounge for 40 minutes unless it's free? Which it isn't free, so I won't pay for 40 minutes.

But to be honest, all of this would be tolerable, were it not for my bad back.

It's amazing how we always take good health for granted and then, when there's something wrong with us, it's the only thing we can think of.

And it ruins everything. It ruins your mood, ruins your day.

Writing this here on Publish0x took around 15 minutes. Now I just gotta kill another 30 before I can finally go through security.
