Crypto-currencies update July 18th, 2021

By KnightMare | LearningCrypto | 18 Jul 2021

Hello everybody, hope you are doing well.

It's been a quiet week and we haven't seen much improvements in the majority of crypto-currencies. Actually a decline has occurred for the majority of crypto-currencies.

Let's have a look. All % changes are based on a week. So how is the value of the coin today compared to a week ago. The last column is the marketcap (value per coin * the amount of coins available).

As you can see, the 1 main crypto-currencies (Bitcoin BTC and Ethereum ETH) have shown a decline. ETH had an update about Ethereum 2.0, but nothing major that could move the price. As usual, they influence the majority of other crypto-currencies, especially the impact of Bitcoin should not be underestimated.

Uniswap (UNI) had some news and together with Polkadot (DOT) and Polygon (Matic) showed a -17%+ move compared to last week.

The next list of cryptocurrencies show a similar movement.

Very, very red, with Cosmos (ATOM) and AMP (AMP) even exceeding -20%. For Cosmos (ATOM) on a 2.2 billion market cap, that's almost 400 million. Wow!

Unfortunately the next list also doesn't have any green.

As mentioned earlier, with Bitcoin and Ethereum down so much, it would be hard for the other crypto-currencies to grow.

How has your week been? Any opportunities that you've jumped on?
