Does it still pay in 2023? yes, it does I've been playing for a month or two and have earned around 40 gods' tokens equal to about 20$.

That 20$ could easily skyrocket in price in the next Bullrun so i would miss out on this game. Plus, since its free you really have nothing to lose.

you use MetaMask as your wallet though more wallet options will be available soon.

They give you free cards some of which can be sold for a pretty decent amount of cash.

To be able to sell cards though you need to have two copies of that card, now you may notice that those cards have a lock on the top of them.

To get rid of that lock and be able to sell the card go to a place called the forge to fuse them together.

This will cost some in game currency but that's ok because you will earn that currency playing matches of the game.
