In the third match of ongoing ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier, Nepal suffered a SHOCK defeat from Qatar in its first match. This shock defeats have deteriorated Nepal's chance to qualify for the World Cup.

In the match played at Singapore, Nepal won the toss and elected to bat. The opening batting pair had been the biggest problem for Nepal and it continued today again. Nepal dropped both of its openers and started with Captain Parash Khada and out of form vice Captain Gyanendra Malla, the players who used to bat in number 3 and number 4. They did give a good start with a partnership of 49 runs for the first wicket in 6 overs but it meant there were no players to take the innings forward at number 3 and number 4.

Parash Khadka was first to go and Gyanendra Malla followed him shortly. Then, Nepal started losing its wicket, and in no time, Nepal was all out for 122 runs. No batsmen put any effort to keep the scoreboard moving except Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 34 runs who chipped in 34 runs. No good news in the bowling department either as Qatar went on to win the match by 4 wickets. Sandeep Lamichhane, although expensive took 3 wickets for Nepal but it was not enough. Inam-ul-Haq ensured victory with 41 runs for Qatar.

Singapore, Qatar, Malaysia, Nepal, and Kuwait are competing for the remaining 1 sport for the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier. The winner of this tournament would advance to ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier.
