Hi all,
I have tried out TownStar and built my own farm to check out how difficult it is to make real money from this Play-2-Earn game! It took a number of hours to reach this stage you can see in the photo below, but now I am doing the daily challenge within 20 minutes.
I earn 1 “Town Star” coin by doing the daily challenge, which currently equals to 0,3 USD (you need TownStar NFTs to earn money and I get one NFT for free by being Gala Gold member. This NFT gives me potentially one Town Star/day) .
I am considering to buy a costly NFT to place on my property to earn even more money but I haven’t made up my mind yet (the more expensive NFT you buy, the more Town Star you can earn…)

Reflections
- It was really fun to build up the farm. It requires good balance between different activities as in many cases activities compete for the same resources needed to complete the activity (wood is for instance often used). So you have to prioritize and optimize
- After a while, now when I have built up a fairly productive farm and can make money every day, the game feels more like a chore to earn my coins every day rather than doing something fun…
Some concerns
- The current “Season one” is free to play, which indicates that in the future players will have to buy passes to play. This will affect the earning of the game as you first have to earn back the cost of entering the Play-2-earn mode. And it may also affect NFTs. Maybe expensive NFTs will be even more expensive as you will need NFTs that earn more Town Star in order to make this game profitable from buying the passes…
Some tips if you want to try out this game
- Crop need water. Place it close to a pond or marsh so you don’t have to have your employees spend time watering the crop
- Remember that activities can compete for same resources. You might have to pause some activities sometimes
- Plan your farm well. Workers move faster on roads so build your farm accordingly (I didn’t so my workers are a bit slow…)
