Hello trainers, welcome back to the wonderful world of Kryptomon. If you haven’t already, make sure you take a look at our previous articles on Phase 0, Phase 1 and Phase 2 to understand the overall context and Kryptomon roadmap.
June is shaping up to be a jam packed month for all Kryptomon trainers. Our devs are currently hard at work cleaning the top 10,000 list (we hate cheaters and bots as much as you do!), and you can expect to see your rankings start to change on the leaderboard soon enough.
But that’s not all that’s been happening behind the scenes. The Kryptomon team have also been busy working with our amazing advisors to revamp the KMON tokenomics to make it more accessible for everyone. Quite a lot has changed so let’s get cracking!
Tokenomics?
For the trainers out there that are new to the crypto space, this article will dive into the details of how $KMON, the native currency used in the Kryptomon world, will be allocated. Since $KMON is needed for various actions like battling, training and breeding, a successful trainer will undoubtedly require his/her own stash of $KMON and we discuss below how you can get your hands on some.
The $KMON coin
For our more experienced crypto trainers, this won’t be a “Wen moon ser?” article. Instead, it is our hope that the information laid out below will convince you that Kryptomon is a long term project.
Total $KMON Supply
Following the revamp, the final details for $KMON is as such:
- Total Supply: 1 billion $KMON
- Listing Price: $0.01
The full details for each phase of the token allocation can be found in the graphic below, or here on our website. As the details are fairly self explanatory, we won’t be listing each and every single phase here but rather focus on calling out specific points of interest.
$KMON allocation
Pre Seed & Seed Allocation
Details on these 2 phases have previously been mentioned in the #faq channel of our Discord, so we won’t spend too much time on them here. In the pre-seed phase, we primarily spoke to accredited investors who are looking to invest sizeable sums into Kryptomon. As the graphic above suggests, these investments will be locked for 6 months from the date of TGE (Token Generation Event), after which 5.55% of their investment will be unlocked monthly and distributed to them in daily increments.
Following a successful round of fundraising, we’ve now closed the pre-seed allocation, though the Seed allocation phase is still open for interested investors. Differing slightly from the pre-seed, the conditions for investors investing are:
- A minimum investment size of $10,000 up to a maximum of $50,000
- 15% of your investment available immediately following TGE
- 85% unlocked daily over the course of 6 months.
Eg: Bob invests $100 in the seed allocation and he’ll immediately receive $15 in $KMON. Beginning the 7th month after TGE, $0.47 ( 85%/(6months*30days) )will be unlocked every day.
Safeguarding your $KMON
At this point it’s worth commenting on why we impose such limitations on investors who take an interest in Kryptomon. From the graphic above you’ll see that all investors before the IDO will have their $KMON locked in one form or other. This is one of the few mechanisms we’ve implemented to safeguard the price of $KMON.
Many a project in the crypto space have failed because early investors with a large bag (a whale), have dumped their holdings once the token is live in the market. Smaller investors panic when seeing a big sell off and choose to sell too, creating a vicious cycle that continues to propagate till the token is worthless.
Working with our advisors, we’ve done everything in power to ensure that this does not happen. Mechanisms we’ve implemented include:
- Locking a large portion of the $KMON investors own, which vests in small amounts over time.
- Limiting the amount of $KMON each investor will be able to purchase, preventing a scenario where one whale is able to significantly influence the price.
Of course, it’s not just the investors who are subject to these limitations. We’ve been just as strict on ourselves as we have been with investors. As you’ll see in the Team Allocation section, the Kryptomon team will also have our tokens locked for 6 months before vesting over a 1.5 year period.
Community Allocation
As we’ve mentioned multiple times in previous articles, Kryptomon is at its core a game that revolves around our community. Without your support, we wouldn’t be where we are today, and we wanted to reward those that have stuck with us all this time. Enter the community allocation.
You don’t need to be an accredited investor nor have large sums of capital to participate. This is for all the trainers who’ve grown up dreaming of being a Pokemon Master, for every kid who might only have a couple of dollars to spare. For those who believe in the Kryptomon vision as we do, the community allocation is your chance to purchase $KMON at a 50% discount from its listing price.
Please note that as an investor, you’ll be subject to certain limitations as well:
- 80% of your investment locked, vesting daily over a period of 6 months.
- A maximum buy in of $2.5k.
Final points of interest
- IDO — Sometime in July (though the exact date has not yet been confirmed). Following which $KMON will officially be live in the market, and we’ll lock $500k in liquidity on Pancakeswap for 6 months.
- Foundation Reserve — As the name suggests, these are the reserves that the Kryptomon team will keep as a precaution for unforeseen circumstances.
For example: Hiring an extra developer to support the team due to how popular Kryptomon has become would use funds from the Foundation Reserve
Ending Thoughts
June and July are looking to be pretty eventful for everyone in the Kryptomon world. We’re currently at the seed allocation phase and you’ll notice that we deliberately left out mentioning any concrete dates for any of the other phases. The team is hard at work getting all the details right and we’ll be releasing more information for each allocation phase when the time comes.
