Well trainers, it’s been an interesting two days and we’ve had to move up our timelines quite significantly. If you haven’t already, make sure you take a look at our previous articles on Phase 0, Phase 1 and Phase 2 to understand the overall context and Kryptomon roadmap.
This article however, will focus specifically on what’s happened, why we had to change our plans and we hope to accomplish in June 2021. There’s quite a lot to cover so let’s get cracking!
The original timeline and plan
Previously, we had planned to release an article today announcing that trainers would have the chance to climb the leaderboard for another 10 days till the 10th of June 2021 before the run closed. Unfortunately this is no longer possible…
Why? What happened?
The Kryptomon community happened. 😂 Thanks to the amazing effort that everyone put into promoting Kryptomon, there was an overwhelming number of responses and trainers signing up hoping to join the Kryptomon family. Our Telegram group is now at well over 27k members, with Discord at 18k members.
Due to the large volume of data, the third party software that was responsible for handling registration and the leaderboard contacted us last night and informed us that we had greatly exceeded what they could handle. The leaderboard was temporarily shutdown and although we’ve now regained access to the leaderboard, we haven’t yet received further word from the third party software if sign ups can continue.
Because of this, we’ve decided to officially end the run today. We didn’t want to risk a scenario where the leaderboard might go offline again in the future and all the chaos and confusion that comes with it.
As you might expect, we are… unsure how to feel at the moment. The Kryptomon team is regretful this had to happen and want to sincerely apologize to anyone who has had their plans disrupted because of this. At the same time, we’re over the moon with all the enthusiasm and how much love you’ve shown us.
Looking to the future
Regardless, the show must go on. Fortunately, we were still able to obtain the data from before the leaderboard was shut down, so your efforts so far have not been in vain. With that being said, the new plan is as follows:
1st June 2021
The run is officially closed and no more trainers will be able to sign up or climb the leaderboard. The team is hard at work processing all the data we’ve received and will have a leaderboard up on the website tonight showing the 10,000 trainers that managed to secure a spot on the rankings.
The rankings are NOT final at this stage as we still have to comb through the data to remove any bots and cheaters, so don’t feel surprised to see your ranking move up a few ranks in the upcoming days.
15th June 2021
Once we’ve triple checked the list to ensure everyone on the top 10,000 list is a legitimate winner, we’ll release another announcement informing you to expect an email that will be sent out to the all the winners.
In this email will be a special link that is tied to your position on the leaderboard. Following that link will take you to our website where you’ll be able to enter your BSC wallet address, which is where we’ll airdrop your Kryptomon egg when it’s ready.
It goes without saying, but do NOT share this email with anyone else. Anyone who gets access to this email will be able to register their BSC wallet address on our website instead of yours.
30th June 2021
The airdrop begins! Based on the list of BSC wallet addresses, we’ll begin the airdrop and you should soon be able to see your very own Kryptomon egg on the BSC mainnet. Check out its stats and elements and don’t forget to share your new Kryptomon partner with us on Twitter.
Once again, congratulations! You are now officially one of the first Kryptomon trainers in the world!
What you need to do right now
Make some noise!
We are 27k strong on Telegram and 18k on Discord! We want to hear from all of you so let’s get everyone on Discord where you can share your ideas in the #ideas channel, brainstorm and create some Kryptomon lore in the #lore channel and just generally hang out in the #general channel with the first generation of Kryptomon trainers.
Make a friend
The Kryptomon family is a young one and its time to start getting to know one another. From a gaming perspective, this is also the best time to start finding a couple of other trainers that you might want to breed your Kryptomon with since everyone will only have one egg!
For those of you that didn’t manage to make the top 10,000 on the leaderboard, don’t fret just yet! Phase 1 is right around the corner and you can be sure existing trainers will be breeding plenty of Kryptomon eggs to trade and sell. Make a friend or two and convince him/her to sell you their first egg!
