Recap of Kriptobi & Seascape AMA

By insidetrader | Kriptobi AMA Series | 11 Feb 2021

Kriptobi, one of the most active groups in Turkey on cryptocurrencies, hosted CFEO David and COO Nicky from the Seascape project on the 29th of January, 2021. In the first phase of our event, the Seascape project was introduced to our community members with group managers’ questions and our guest's answers. In the second phase, 3 questions collected via Twitter were asked to our guests, and in the third phase, the ‘live Q&A’ section was completed. In the second and third stages, our community members, whose questions were answered, were rewarded with a gift worth 10$ at the time of reward distributing. If you also want to participate in future AMA events and win while being informed, you can join the Kriptobi community.

Stage 1 (Questions of our group managers, answers of our guest)

Question 1. What is Seascape? And how is the story behind the Seascape Network creation?

David. Seascape Network is a game platform designed around the Defi and NFT economies. As I and my team were working on BLOCKLORDS, which is a very ambitious blockchain strategy game, we started noticing a lot of problems with most protocols and the SDKs they provided to game developers, which made the development of successful and scalable DApps almost impossible for small teams.
As we improved our project management processes and workflow, as well as with our increased experience in smart contracts, we decided we could develop a platform ourselves and offer the tools to other game devs to access the world of blockchain. This, along with our excitement about DeFi and the added liquidity it provides to small projects, made us take the leap and go from developing one game to a whole platform instead!

Question 2. What is so exciting about Seascape Network, which might make Seascape Network different from all other projects out there?

Nicky. Many projects out there claiming to have the best blockchain game or platform consist of devs who actually have little or no experience with the game industry. Our team is well-versed both in how blockchain economies are built and can make excellent games on top of those economies. We believe this focus on excellent quality and proper incentives to both our users and devs will set us apart from the competition and gain users, both from blockchain and traditional gaming. The DeFi mini-games we are about to release are a perfect example of how we plan to combine the best of gaming with core crypto mechanics. By taking some of the core concepts of defi and turning them into easy-to-access mini-games, we are aiming to lower the bar of complexity that is linked with most defi system. In this way we want to achieve two things: 1. to make defi mechanics more fun and exciting to existing blockchain users. 2. To draw in a new crowd who isn't familiar with blockchain tech but maybe used to more traditional mobile or casino games and who wants to earn real rewards with their time spent playing. Once you unlock the potential to earn while you play, it will draw in a lot of new users who will help spread crypto adoption to previously unimagined heights!

Question 3. Can you please provide some information about your roadmap? How Seascape Network is progressing so far? And what Seascape Network is currently focused on?

David. The first step of our launch will be to release the Seascape game platform, which will of course host our core strategy game, BLOCKLORDS, but also 3 brand new DeFi mini-games which will provide great opportunities for our users to earn. This will all be released on the Ethereum mainnet as while transaction fees are high, most of the value is still there for our users to grab. Following the launch of the Seascape platform both on Ethereum and BSC, we will begin our transition to Substrate in later 2021. It will begin with a new random number generator developed on Substrate, which will offer a unique decentralized product for other DApp developers in the Polkadot ecosystem. We will also release a host of other games, both developed by our own studio and other partners we have made partnerships with. All projects associated with Seascape will use Crowns as the core token for value transfer.

Quick news we want to share is Binance become our latest investor, read more here. And we commit our platform and products will launch on Binance Smart Chain as well.

Question 4. Please tell us more about the $CWS (Crowns) token. What utilities does the token have, and what benefits will tokens holders get?

Nicky. Crowns are the official token of the Seascape Network. We've actually written a number of articles discussing these in detail, but succinctly:
• Buy Games and Services on the Scape Store
• Stake in Seascape Defi to earn competitive yields
• Mint and Trade Seascape standard NFT
• Create PCC (player-created coins) backed by Crowns
• Validate the Seascape Network and secured the Seascape Chain
• Trade-in Exchanges and profit your time spending in Seascape

You can check this article for more details.

Question 5. What are some achievements that Seascape Network has completed so far? And what are Seascape Network's upcoming plans, Especially in 2021?

David. So far we have done the following: Released blocklords on over half a dozen chains and l2 solutions. We have also done a lot of experimentation with developing DeFi protocols on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and the Polkadot/substrate ecosystem. We have also forged partnerships with game developers all around the world who will continue releasing products on our platform. Our achievements include not only the projects we have released and are currently working on but also an overall expansion into gamified defi, unlike any way it has ever been done before. Our partnerships with strong companies such as Chainlink, DAO Maker, and Binance will only continue to expand as we grow our presence in the blockchain gaming field!

After this answer, the first phase of our AMA event was completed. And immediately after that, questions sent via Twitter will be answered. And the second phase has begun.

Stage 2 (Twitter users' questions, our guest's answers)

Twitter Question 1
NFT is in great demand in the crypto space these days, many projects come to this sector and make awesome development like Sandbox and Axie. How will Seascape compete with them? What is the "New" thing that Seascape bring to this sector? (from @Kvindvr)

Nicky. NFTs have been around for 3 years and it's true they haven't really reached their potential yet. The main reason for that is that the focus has been too much on the collectible aspect of them, while it is actually in my opinion of the less interesting parts. This is because collectibles are entirely speculative and still tend to be reproduced digitally by the creators. After a few months, people usually lose interest since they have no use. In order for NFTs to really breakthrough, two things need to happen. They need to have a real value attached to them, either in crypto-currency, or in the real world, and that value needs to be redeemable within the NFT itself. This is something we will explore a lot in the Seascape Network gaming ecosystem!

We have prepared a variety of ways to use NFTs in the game, and what you can soon explore right after token launch is a DeFi mini-game that allows Seascape NFTs to stake and earn CWS rewards. However, when claiming staking rewards from our NFT staking game, that staked NFTs will have to be burned. This is the consequence we are talking about to create a balance in the price of Crowns and our NFTs. You can claim Crowns, but you need to burn NFTs. You can also create new NFTs, but you will have to spend Crowns (which are then rebased). This is a balancing act that we believe will add value to the Seascape Network while also adding engagement.

Twitter Question 2
Liquidity is the challenge of decentralized exchanges, how does Seascape solve this problem? (from @rasim7878)

Nicky. We will provide an initial pool of liquidity that is worth over 250K USD in Ethereum in Crowns. This should be enough to offer anyone a chance to get their hands on Crowns in the early stage of the launch. Following the TGE day, we will also release our first game, which is all about incentivizing liquidity by offering huge mining rewards to those who stake their liquidity tokens. Liquidity mining is the biggest innovation of 2020 in my opinion and it is a big reason we felt confident moving forward with a Uniswap launch, as it serves the purpose of stabilizing locked liquidity and also rewarding early supporters handsomely.

Twitter Question 3
Seeing the announcement that the Seascape channel has collaborated with MakerDAO, what are the goals and objectives in the cooperation otherwise knows as SHO? Will there be big news or developments in the Seascape project in building the ecosystem in collaboration with MakerDAO? (from @Kosavalcenkk)

David. The DAO Maker SHO just concluded and was the most successful ever made with nearly 20k applicants and over 100m in value staked! It has helped cause great buzz for our project and we are planning to continue this relationship as both of our projects move forward with forging a path in the decentralized economy! Stay tuned for more info about that. We are very grateful to those who participated in this event and are excited about the future this will bring to us and our incentivized gaming ecosystem!

After that answer, our event’s 2nd phase was terminated and the ‘live Q&A’ section started. 7 questions answered by our guest within minutes were shaped as follows.

Stage 3 (Live questions of community members, our guest's answers)

Live Question 1. In the crypto world, which one would you choose between building a strong community or listing Crowns tokens on various popular exchanges? Please explain the reason.

David. I don't think we need to choose between the two, and should rather focus on achieving both. Having an active community that plays our games and help grow our ecosystem is vital to building a good gaming platform. Likewise, having our token be available on as many established exchanges as possible also ensures good liquidity, price action, and also helps us reach new users!

Live Question 2. Tell us a little bit about security. Have you done an audit of the platform? Are the smart contracts error-free? What are the test results?

Nicky. We are working with some of the top auditing firms in the world to ensure the security of all of our smart contracts, as well as making sure that all of our customer data is kept safe from any prying eyes. We have successfully launched several blockchain games and smart contracts without any issues as well, so our track record speaks for itself.
One fun note is that CertiK, one of our auditors, mentioned that the level of quality in our smart contract development is some of the highest they have ever seen, which is why they have decided to highlight us on their website under some good development practices for smart contracts. You can rest assured that our DApps can be used safely and that funds will be protected. Read more here.

Live Question 3. I never sell my NFT's. Is it possible to stake the earned NFT for rewards and earn more from staking them?

David. One of our games will be an NFT staking game, which will provide pretty generous rewards to those who stake. However, one crux with this game is that those who stake their NFTs will have to burn them when claiming rewards, meaning it will have to be a tough decision whether users should stake, claim or hold their NFTs.

Live Question 4. Is your project a global project? Is any of the local communities restricted from contributing to the project?

David. Yes, our team consists of members in China, Vietnam, Japan, Sweden, Slovenia the US, and more! We also plan to localize our game in most major languages and want to build communities in all regions across the world.

Live Question 5. What gives you the confidence of success in this project can you tell us?

David. We have 10 years of experience in the gaming industry, 3 years developing blockchain DApps, a great creative process for developing games, and have received investments from Binance, LD Capital, and many more reputable investors. This along with our community-building efforts and dedication to decentralized economies are good signs about the potential of Seascape!

Live Question 6. The NFT Brawl Game will be the main way or method to mint NFTs into Seascape, but can you explain the process of minting? What is needed to create an NFT with you?

Nicky. In the game called NFT BRAWL, users have the option to spend Crowns to get an NFT of random quality. In this game, any player can choose to spend any amount they wish to mint NFTs. These Crowns will be locked up in the community pool to be later redistributed to holders via our Paywave system. This is one of the many options users will have to spend Crowns on the Seascape platform. But how or when Crowns are spent is entirely up to the user.
The NFT minted in NFT BRAWL can then stake in the NFT staking game, which is named STAKING SALOON, which works in a similar fashion. A user can stake an NFT and start earning Crowns. The APY will be significant in size. But the catch here is that to claim the Crowns, the NFT will be burnt. Meaning that the user will have to make a decision: "Do I claim now and lose my NFTs to get the reward?" or "Do I wait until the end of the event to get the maximum amount of rewards?" This will make users think twice before claiming their rewards, which is what we wanted.

Also, let me show you guys a gif here from NFT BRAWL! Just stay tuned for more Seascape NFT games.

Live Question 7. Almost every investor is interested in large DeFi projects as it delivers high returns and is fast. For what reasons can convince small and large investors to trust and invest in your project?

David. DeFi is going to bring a new era in digital economics and the Seascape network was created in order to combine DeFi with gaming. We plan to develop a multitude of games that will make DeFi accessible to 2 billion gamers across the world, something that will revolutionize our industry and bring liquidity to gamers everywhere!

After this answer, we came to the end of the 3rd stage and the whole event. We thank our guest for not breaking our kind offer and for joining our community.
