Huobi, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, stops serving its users in the U.S.
Dear Users,
Huobi Global is serving millions of users in more than 130 countries around the world and strictly complying with laws and regulations in various countries and regions. In line with the laws and regulations of the United States with respect to crypto assets, our User Agreement expressly prohibits users in the United States from using our platform. For that reason, the accounts of US users have been gradually disabled to prevent any further trading or transferring. We will freeze all US user accounts from 13 November 2019 (GMT+8) onwards. We are sorry for any inconvenience resulting therefrom.
The Singapore-based company will halt all US operations in the next few weeks and will out of U.S. market. Most cryptocurrency companies are having difficulty serving the country due to US regulations. Today, Huobi serves in giant markets such as Europe, Asia and America in 130 countries and will withdraw from the American market in the coming weeks. With Huobi's move, US crypto users will no longer be able to join the platform.
Huobi's discontinuation of service to American investors has already been known for a few months, or rather predicted. However, the company has now confirmed these claims and announced on November 13 that it will freeze all American accounts.
