Found out why open modular turrets was crashing. Turns out of all the mods that use a library, it's the probably the only one where the library has to match mod version explicitly and I caused the problem because mod itself updated whereas the library itself did not. And then when I tried to roll backwards I was erroneously apply the logical choosing of the library that goes with it. I must remember this and never add this mod again.
