As reported by Cointelegraph, as of February 28, 2022, donations to Ukraine in response to the Russian invasion has topped $37 million. This figure represents the tracked donations which have been sent to the Ukrainian government, military and various charities. This number does not include any amounts from donations between individuals.
The recipient of the largest amount of donations apparently is ‘The Reserve Fund of Ukraine’, having received approximately $13 million (in BTC, ETH and USDT). This ‘Fund’ is backed by Kuna which is Ukraine’s native crypto exchange.
Next in line is a non-governmental entity, ‘Come Back Alive’ which claims to be aiding the Ukrainian Armed Forces resistance efforts against Russia. This entity has received over $7.2 million in charitable donations.
Third is the effort known as UkraineDAO lead by Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova, (for those unfamiliar, Pussy Riot is a Russian feminist protest music group) which seeks to sell at auction a 1 of 1 NFT flag to fund Ukrainian civil organizations. The current high bid for this NFT is $2.89 million.
Blockchain activists have created the ‘Unchain Fund’ to accept crypto donations for Ukraine. This group accepts many altcoins (including Near, BNB and BUSD) and since its launch has raised $1.5 million.

At present there is a call from several in the crypto community for Ukraine to expand its crypto acceptance beyond BTC, ETH and USDT. On February 27, the co-founder and CEO of VEChain posted the following tweet:
