Airdrops without Airdrops

By Kavehu | Kavehu | 25 Aug 2023

My last two airdrops have reminded me that whether you choose to invest time or money, the outcome is always uncertain. Needless to say, I didn't come up with any of them soon enough... My expectations were low.

While SUI just before the mainnet, maybe even earlier (but no one was listening), said that there was never any talk of a landing, SEI was stretching the testers until the last minute. The team (from my point of view) compared themselves to successful drops like OP, ARKM or ARB and ended up using a solution that the community wasn't too happy with. In both cases, even the Launchpad on Binance did not help.

The wave of resentment resonates on social networks, especially at SEI even today. Many accuse the teams of poor use of the community, arrogance, unclear communication and predict a dark future full of failures and worthless coins…

The influence of the community cannot be underestimated, but…

So far, my impression is that quite a few NFT projects that have decided to build on SUI and SEI are suffering. These projects live by promoting them on Twitter and Discord. If they lose the hype, they don't have much to offer. And that's exactly what I think both communities have done. It must be said that I am extremely biased in the case of NFTs, as I still cannot detect their potential... But more on that some other time...

Community equals investors?

In contrast, blockchains themselves undoubtedly have a lot to offer. If you're a professional drop hunter, you don't care. If you got excited about the infrastructure of both projects, saw the potential, bought the token and HODL... I'm a bit of both. I have been working on Venom testing for several months and I'm really looking forward to sharing my impressions with you.

Of course, this is not financial advice. These are just my personal opinions.

See you soon!!!
