Optimism: A Distinctive Network in the Age of Stablecoins

By Kenzoo | Kanza Blog | 2 Sep 2025

With the plethora of new blockchains in existence, most projects are either about faster transactions or lower fees. Optimism, however, is a different type of animal. As an Ethereum Layer-2 solution, it is not merely a rival in Contrarian Crypto Land but a supporter of an age-old ecosystem. So, what is its selling point? Optimism relies on optimistic rollups, which compress transactions for reduced costs but also lends security from Ethereum.

Currently, Optimism provides service with speed and trusted networks in a stablecoin-dominated market. Its Ethereum integration ensures that stablecoin flows are kept very much secure while maintaining an environment for innovation in DeFi and digital payments. The network is not just efficient but also maintains the ecosystem's continuity.

Indeed, this leaves Optimism with a clear distinction in its principles. While several new networks are set up for immediate profit-taking, Optimism directs a percentage of its transaction fees to public goods-irrespective of profitability. This adds a layer of sustainable from the perspective of an industry pervaded by speculative interests.

Optimism alongside Ethereum level has shown how to demonstrate that in this era of stablecoins, being fast and cheap alone does not suffice; they must have a long-term vision that can balance technology, transparency, and sustainability for the blockchain networks to be the real foundation of digital finance. By integrating security at the Ethereum level with rollup scalability and a commitment to ecosystem sustainability.
