Ethereum Predicted to Reach $25,000 by 2028

Ethereum (ETH) has once again captured the headlines. Standard Chartered has increased the price outlook for ETH to $7,500 with the end of 2025 and $25,000 with the end of 2028. This optimistic outlook is based on five key factors that should bolster a greater ETH presence in coming years.

In the first place, $200 million is just a drop in the bucket when stacked against the predicted impending market swell for stablecoins, which is already being predicted by eight times growing until 2028. This means higher transaction fees would have to be paid in ETH since most stablecoins are running on the Ethereum network.

Second, the institutional adoption trend is rising. Major institutions have purchased 3.8% of the circulating supply of ETH since June 2025. Standard Chartered expects this accumulation could reach 10% by 2028, withdrawing available supply and refining buying pressure.

Thirdly, the much-needed regulatory support. With the passing of the Genius Act in the U.S., we would have a defined legal regime for the stablecoins operating on Ethereum, instilling investor confidence and fast-tracking the adoption rate of ETH.

Fourth, the upgrades of the Ethereum network such as Dencun (March 2024) and Pectra (mid-2025) boost the network's capacity and efficiency, enhancing Ethereum's ability to handle growing transaction volumes and fortifying the DeFi and Web3 ecosystems.

Presently, ETH is valued at around $4,395, close to its all-time high. If this bullish trend continues, then $7,500 by the end of 2025 and $25,000 in 2028 are highly achievable goals.

However, these are volatile times for the cryptocurrency market. Investors must exercise extreme caution and perform their due diligence before making any alterative decision.
