Speed, stability and low costs are the goals of using a peer to peer electronic cash system. Where as p2p/payment gateway becomes a solution for the existence of currency created. In the existence of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, Bitcoin as a pioneer has faced major problems with costs and speed. So the security factor becomes a problem due to concerns about long processes or queues that occur. Even though it is generally known that if a transaction has been entered into the blockchain system then it is declared safe, however, the feeling of anxiety over certainty that human nature has sometimes becomes a point of loss of reason for calm regarding the language of security.
Bitcoin created a solution with the existence of their off-chain side by presenting the Lightning Network (LN) service, even though it answers the existing problems of the word p2p, unfortunately it is still experiencing problems in terms of adoption and ease for users. Meanwhile, the other side of Altcoin's existence is to try and answer with various existing projects. The other side of the existence of Altcoins answers some of the problems posed by the systematic level of the payment system. So it also gave birth to many forkings of Bitcoin or other Atcoins to answer as a solution as a p2p electronic cash system.
Coins such as Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dash, Ripple, Stellar, Digibyte, are the choices most users choose as payment gateways besides Bitcoin. However, unfortunately Ethereum is experiencing problems with the size of gas fees and scaling at the same point as Bitcoin when the value of their coins experiences a large increase. So that the development of problem solutions continues to be pursued until various Layer 2 projects are born to overcome problems on the Ethereum blockchain.
At this point, layer 2 solutions do provide solutions but do not answer the overall problems that arise from the Ethereum-based ecosystem itself. So in the end we have arrived at a new breakthrough which is still under development and it is not certain when the launch date will be released. With the introduction of multi-dimensional gas on Ethereum via EIP-4844, the network can now process various types of requests more efficiently. And this has already started to show its benefits. Where Blobs will allow rollups to operate more cheaply, by tripling transaction volume without increasing block size so this also means maintaining network security.
EIP-4844 introduces a new transaction type called “blob bearer transaction”. More cost-effective and faster transactions. At this moment EIP-4844 becomes a stepping stone for Ethereum's scaling solution, which means it can be said to be the initial stage of existence towards "Danksharding". Where the advantage of Danksharding's existence is that it is a solution for conditions that are cheaper, simpler, easier to manage, and also better scalability by creating higher transaction volumes.
Danksharding means layer-1 scaling solutions have been proposed for Ethereum, although they are still in active development and don't have a firm launch date yet. It is known that 2025 will be the target for launching Danksharding on the Ethereum main network, but this date can still change depending on test results and approval from the Ethereum community. Because keep in mind that this timeline is only an estimate and can change at any time. At least this is all the goal of Ethereum developers prioritizing to ensure Danksharding is well tested and secure before being rolled out to the main network.
Despite this, Ethereum developers continue to work hard to advance this technology. This is at least an early stage towards danksharding, where EIP-4844 will be a stepping stone to a more comprehensive Ethereum scaling solution in the future. Because the existence of Danksharding aims to break blockchain data into several smaller parts, this will increase the overall transaction capacity. This means that there will be new options as payment gateway solutions that are suitable for use and also easy to utilize for the growing needs of crypto currency adoption in the future.
