Investment-Based Bitcoin Games: A Comparison Between CityTycoon.Online, Crypto-Magnate.Online, & MyBitcoin.City

As the price of bitcoin surges the number of new crypto games grows in tandem.  In the last four months, at least three new sites opened that spin off a classic, SimCity.  CityTycoon, CryptoMagnate, and MyBitcoinCity represent three approaches to investment-based bitcoin games, each of which is growing in popularity.  This article attempts to describe features of each as well as compare earnings potential.  The author of this article is a user of all three sites and not an employee of any of them.  I was smart enough to create a telegram channel for MyBitcoinCity the first day I saw it, and it later became the official channel.  However, I do not work for the site; nor am I an owner!  If I was, why would my poor a*! write this blog?!?

CityTycoon

Arguably the most aesthetically pleasing of all three sites, CityTycoon offers users an opportunity to multiply their bitcoin through investments in different buildings.  CityTycoon divides their buildings into residential and commercial, which earn in game dollars at varying rates.  Users can claim their earnings from buildings whenever they like, in addition to a daily bonus that maxes at one in-game dollar.  Earnings for withdrawal can be exchanged for bitcoin, or deposited into funds for purchases with a 5% bonus.  The minimum amount for withdrawal is 0.0006 btc, with no fee for withdrawal listed.  The website shows a number of payments, however none are connected to the blockchain.  Unfortunately, the website doesn’t list the buildings length of purchase (an email has been sent to admin and support seeking clarification).  CityTycoon offers new users a free apartment upon registration.

CryptoMagnate

The least intricate in graphic design, CryptoMagnate is another site that allows users to earn bitcoin through the purchase of buildings or viewing user’s advertisements.  Users can claim earnings from their buildings whenever they want.  Earnings from viewing advertisements are only available for purchases, not withdrawals.  Earnings for withdrawals can also be converted to purchases with a 5% bonus.  Users can claim a daily bonus than ranges from one to one hundred satoshi.  The minimum amount for withdrawals is 0.001 btc, and a fee of 0.0001 btc is charged for all withdrawals.  Each building purchased lasts four months.  At the time of writing, no proof of payment were available on the website.

MyBitcoinCity

Since beauty is subjective, it’s hard to objectively judge which buildings look best, but most would agree that MyBitcoinCity’s buildings look really good.  Currently, users only earn through buildings, although admin and support report that advertisement viewing might be coming soon.  New users are given a free bank that functions as a faucet and lasts forever.  Purchasing additional buildings allows users to claim higher amounts of bitcoin every eight hours.  Buildings last until they produce two times their initial cost, and users can buy three of each different type of buildings simultaneously.  The minimum withdrawal amount is 0.001 btc with no fee for withdrawal, and the website shows a number of payment proofs that are linked to the blockchain.

Conclusion

Based on the raw data, MyBitcoinCity offers the highest return per hour and total ROI (unless CityTycoon buildings last a really long time, which would make the site financially unsustainable).  In fact, of all the free buildings offered by each site, MyBitcoinCity’s bank/faucet is the highest paying.

Comparing building that are the exact same cost, for example the Vape Shop from MyBitcoinCity and the Nouveau House from CityTycoon (both cost 0.001 btc), shows MyBitcoinCity’s Vape Shop pays about 7.16 satoshi more per hour, or 171,84 satoshi a day.  Again, comparison buildings of the same price from MyBitcoinCity and CryptoMagnate, the restaurant and oil company, MyBitcoinCity’s restaurant pays 140 satoshi more per hour, or 3,360 satoshi more per day.

In terms of ROI, as previously stated CityTycoon offers no data on the length of buildings purchase, only the monthly return.  The return on buildings from CryptoMagnate vary from 11% to 20% a month, but the building with the highest return is the Oil Company.  Since CryptoMagnate buildings last four months, the total return on the oil company is at most 0.0738 btc (four thirty-one day months and one thirty day month).  On the other hand, the Restaurant from MyBitcoinCity has a total ROI of 0.08 btc.

Although both CityTycoon and CryptoMagnate offer daily bonuses, they are unlikely to make up the difference in earnings.  Viewing advertisements offers users of CryptoMagnate an opportunity to earn more, if MyBitcoinCity does add this feature, it becomes a moot point.

On the whole, the data clearly and objectively show that MyBitcoinCity offers the highest returns on investments to users.  With new promotions and features in the works, users can gain more from MyBitcoinCity than other SimCity clones.  Add in the fact that MyBitcoinCity’s proof of payments are connected to the Blockchain and includes its revenue breakdown on the website, it might be the most transparent and trustworthy of the three sites too!

*** update after writing this

MyBitcoinCity is currently not paying, or accepting deposits, due to "server maintenance."
