How I Learned to Stop Fearing, and Love, Bitcoin Bums

How I Learned to Stop Fearing, and Love, Bitcoin Bums

A little over four months ago I kept noticing an ad for a new investment game, Bitcoin Bum.  The name alone was intriguing enough to get me to bite.  Images of gangsters on the homepage- yes, please; I do want to be a gang leader!  And I can earn without an investment?  That's perfect because I'm bitcoin poor!!

Today I'm writing, on the eve of my first withdrawal, still not having invested any bitcoin into the site, and having earned the minimum amount of 0.001 btc. But how did we get here?  And what exactly is a bitcoin bum?  Can anyone be one?  Is the freedom of living a bum's life worth it in the long-run?  Is there any social mobility in the world of bitcoin bums?  How dangerous is life as a gangster?  All of these questions will be answered in due time.  So let's begin at the beginning...

Living a bum's life is not easy.  In fact, my first job in Bitcoin Bum was to "beg for money."  Not exactly glamorous, but it did pay 40 satoshi a day.  After that there are a number of tasks to choose from that allow bums to earn for free: The Reporter (Youtube), Promoter (vk.com), Search for Errors (Find bugs, typos, etc), Post on the forum (mmgp.com), Write an article about the game Bitcoin Bum (cough, cough), Create a forum topic about our game and get a bonus (must be new topic), Subscribe to telegram channel (htttps://t.me/BumNews), Subscribe to the telegram Chat of our project (https://t.me/bumchaten), Write a review about the project (top 10 sites), and finally, Surfing sites (User links).  Payment for each task is primarily within a preset range and depends on quality.  I began with joining the two telegram channels and rewriting the tutorial page (although it has since been changed, presumably due to new additions and features).

Now that my Bum had earned enough coin do something in the game, I purchased my first house and got my first job.  Jobs allow users to earn every hour, but require rental of a corresponding house every month.  The first house and job pair I got was living in a "trash box" (1,000 satoshi a month) and working to "collect rubbish" (0.0001 btc).  Here I would like to pause for a second and say...this is so awesome!  Come on, living in a cardboard box and picking up garbage?!  You can't find a more creative BTC investment game anywhere.  It's one of the reasons why I've grown to love my bum so much.  You bum can even multiply the payment for each job they perform.  For example, my bum is currently x7 on collecting rubbish.  So i get 7x the normal earnings of the job.  Each multiple requires payment of the original cost of the job.

Sometime while I was toiling away as a freelance garbage collector a new feature was added: gangs!  This is one of, is not the coolest feature of the game.  As a member of "Hell$ Bum$" I'm able to steal btc from users once an hour who have not collected money from their jobs in the last two hours.  You're only allowed to steal from users who are the same level as you.  However, as your bum moves up in levels you should be able to steal more from people with better jobs.  My all-time high for loot is over 3,000 satoshi.  Gang leaders have the ability to adjust what percent you take from each theft.  Currently, since I led my gang in both the total number of robberies and the total amount stolen I get to keep 75%.

Stealing btc from lazy bums brought my earning to new levels.  I was able to upgrade my collecting rubbish job many times over.  I saved enough to step my game up and move into the second level house-job pair, living in "sewage" (5,000 satoshi a month) and working to "sweep yards" (0.0005 btc).  In the city of Mukhosransk, bums with big dreams can move up the ladder!  And yes, living in a sewage is better than living in a card board box- it's both heated and covered...

Adding a second job predictably accelerated my earning.  In less than a month I was able to upgrade my collecting rubbish job and sweeping yard job once.  I was also able to save enough to meet the minimum amount for BTC withdrawal (0.001).  Let's pause from my bum's journey from rags to riches to talk about payments.  Another newer addition to the game was the creation of a money laundering account.  In order to withdraw, users must have money in their laundering accounts.  There are three main ways to get credit here: deposits, referrals, and tasks.  Once you have money in your laundering account, you then have a number of options for payment: BTC, Payeer, Perfect Money, and Visa.  The minimums and fees are different for each.  It's also worth noting that the site frequently offers promotions for deposits.  For instance, right now users can get +50% if they  "replenish" their accounts.

Back to the good stuff- after speaking to some members of my gang and seeing users post payment proofs to the telegram chat channel, I'm strongly considering a deposit.  If and when I do, I will be looking to upgrade either my house and job to the third pair, renting a tent (10,000 satoshi a month) and "work at a construction site" (0.001 btc), or investing in an "affordable business."  We need to pause again and talk a little bit about the city of Mukhosransk.  As you can probably tell, crime is a major problem.  But so is corruption.  In order to get the mayor to approve laundering money from your business, bums must pay to help get crime bosses out of jail.  Doing so increases the "authority" of each bum.  Furthermore, bums can bribe the mayor in order to gain "trust."  These features are temporarily suspended (due to increased "oversight from prosecutors"), but may return.

So just how affordable are the "affordable businesses"?  Prices range from 0.004 btc (Point on the market) to 1 btc (Oil and gas corporation).  Profits range from 4706 satoshi a day to 0.025 btc.  Businesses last either 120 days or 80 days.  There are 10 businesses to choose from.  There are also 10 total jobs to choose from.  They range in price from free (Beg for money) to 0.5 btc (president of the oil company).  The profit ranges from 40 satoshi a day (beg for money) to 0.0075 btc a day (president of the oil company).  All jobs last for 250 days.

Long story short, I no longer run away when I see bums.  I've proudly been able to pull myself into the gutter and love that my bum is now usually earns 0.0001 btc a day.  This amount can only increase in the near-term after I add a third job or buy a business.  My level will also increase, so other bums beware: I plan to steal everything you have and more.  In fact, I will even steal from myself just so you can't steal from me.  Looking forward to seeing you future bums in Mukhosransk.
